Copy Parents
We need volunteers to copy materials for teachers and staff. Volunteers usually commit to one or two days per month. Shifts are available every day of the week. The schedule is Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 to 11am and Tuesday and Thursday from 1 to 3pm. Contact (copy_parent [at] smspta [dot] org) for more information.
Library Volunteers
SMS library volunteers take some of the load of the library staff so they can concentrate on providing the best learning environment possible. Parents are needed every day of the week and no experience is necessary. Shifts are 8:30 to 11:30 am and 12:30 to 3:30 pm, and can be adjusted to fit your schedule.
A Library Volunteer assists with a variety of library tasks including:
- working the circulation desk (checking books in & out)
- helping students find books
- shelving books
- pulling books for class assignments
- book repair
- occasional projects (laminating, poster making, copying, lists)
